Our Growth Projects

Our Project Pipeline
 - Project - Middle East - Green Ammonia - Scoping - Morocco- In April 2024, Fortescue announced a landmark strategic joint venture with OCP Group to create a green energy hub in Morocco to supply green hydrogen, green ammonia, and fertilisers to Morocco, Europe and the international markets.
 - Project - Americas - Green Hydrogen - Operational - Colorado Technology Hub- Fortescue’s Colorado Technology Hub, announced in 2022, joins other centres in Australia and the UK and demonstrates our commitment to being at the forefront of green energy technology. Colorado was selected due to its world-leading research and development institutions and vibrant innovation ecosystem which makes it an attractive destination for the best talent in the USA.
 - Project - Australia - Green Metals - Under Construction - Green Iron Metal Project- Set in the heart of Western Australia’s Pilbara, is Fortescue’s Green Metal Project is expected to produce more than 1,500 tonnes per annum of green metal, with first production anticipated in 2025. The project is based at our Green Energy Hub at Christmas Creek, where we are advancing the technologies and processes needed to produce green metals and support Fortescue’s leadership in sustainable resource development.
 - Project - Europe - Green Hydrogen - Scoping - Holmaneset- Fortescue’s proposed Holmaneset Project will support a strong pipeline of green hydrogen and green ammonia production for Europe.
 - Project - LATAM - Green Hydrogen - Scoping - Pecem- In Brazil, Fortescue is working to develop a green hydrogen project at the Industrial and Port Complex of Pecém, Ceará. The project is set to have a production capacity of 168,000 tonnes of green hydrogen per annum (tpa) and will contribute to the decarbonisation ambitions of Brazil and the world. Green hydrogen has the potential to play a central role in Brazil’s green neo-industrialisation, serving as the foundation for a new production structure that encompasses sectors such as mining, green steel, e-fuels, and fertilizers.
